- FAQ | Little City Tattoos
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Welcome to the Little City Tattoos FAQ page! Here, we’ve gathered the most commonly asked questions from our clients regarding tattoos, microblading, powder brows, and scar camouflage. If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for, feel free to reach out to us directly! TATTOOS 1. How do I prepare for my tattoo appointment? To prepare for your tattoo, make sure you’re well-rested and hydrated. Avoid drinking alcohol or taking blood-thinning medications the day before your appointment. Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed, and eat a light meal beforehand to keep your blood sugar stable. 2. How long does a tattoo session take? Tattoo session times vary depending on the size and complexity of the design. Smaller tattoos may take around 1–2 hours, while larger, more detailed pieces could take several hours or require multiple sessions. We’ll give you an estimated time frame during your consultation. 3. How much will my tattoo cost? Tattoo prices depend on factors like size, design complexity, and placement. Our artists will provide you with an accurate quote during your consultation. We pride ourselves on fair, transparent pricing and will ensure you understand the cost before starting your tattoo. 4. Does it hurt to get a tattoo? Pain levels vary depending on your pain tolerance, the tattoo location, and the size of the tattoo. Generally, tattoos on fleshier areas (like the upper arm) are less painful than those on bones (like the ribs or hands). If you're nervous, our artists are gentle and will help you through the process. MICROBLADING 1. What is microblading? Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup technique for enhancing eyebrows. Using a fine blade, pigments are deposited into the skin to mimic natural hair strokes, creating fuller, more defined eyebrows. It’s ideal for clients with sparse, thin, or uneven brows. 2. How long does microblading last? Microblading typically lasts 1–2 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and how well you care for your brows. Oily skin or frequent sun exposure may cause the pigment to fade faster, but touch-ups can extend the life of your brows. 3. Is microblading painful? While everyone’s pain tolerance is different, most clients find microblading to be relatively comfortable. A numbing cream is applied before the procedure to minimize discomfort. Some people compare it to a slight scratching or stinging sensation. 4. How do I care for my microbladed brows? After your appointment, you'll need to keep your brows clean and avoid getting them wet for several days. You should also avoid sun exposure, swimming, or applying makeup directly to the brows during the healing process. We’ll provide aftercare instructions to ensure the best results. POWDER BROWS 1. What are powder brows? Powder brows are a semi-permanent makeup technique that creates a soft, shaded, powdery finish, resembling a filled-in brow pencil look. Unlike microblading, which uses individual strokes, powder brows offer a more defined, yet natural, look with a softer, fuller appearance. 2. How long do powder brows last? Powder brows typically last 2–3 years, depending on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and how well you follow aftercare instructions. Oily skin may see slightly faster fading, but touch-ups are recommended to keep your brows looking fresh. 3. Are powder brows less painful than microblading? Because powder brows involve a different technique, some clients find them to be less painful than microblading. A numbing cream is applied before the procedure to ensure your comfort, but pain levels are typically minimal. 4. Can I switch from microblading to powder brows? Yes! If you've had microblading and want a fuller, more defined look, powder brows can be a great option. The transition from microblading to powder brows is smooth and can be customized to fit your needs. SCAR CAMOUFLAGE 1. What is scar camouflage? Scar camouflage is a tattoo technique used to conceal or blend scars with the surrounding skin. Specialized pigments are applied to match your skin tone, helping to make scars less visible. This can be especially helpful for scars from surgery, injury, or acne. 2. How long does scar camouflage last? Scar camouflage results can last 2–5 years, depending on factors like skin type, scar condition, and aftercare. Touch-ups may be needed to keep the camouflage looking fresh, especially if the scar area changes over time. 3. Will scar camouflage completely remove my scar? While scar camouflage won’t completely erase a scar, it can significantly reduce its appearance by blending it with the surrounding skin. The goal is to make the scar less noticeable and improve its overall look. 4. How do I care for my scar camouflage tattoo? After your scar camouflage procedure, we’ll provide specific aftercare instructions. It’s important to keep the area clean, avoid sun exposure, and follow our guidelines to ensure the best results. Proper aftercare helps the pigment settle and improves healing. GENERAL QUESTIONS 1. Do you offer consultations? Yes, we offer consultations for all our services! Whether you’re interested in a tattoo, microblading, powder brows, or scar camouflage, we’ll discuss your ideas, expectations, and any questions you may have to make sure we create the perfect plan for you. 2. Is it safe to get a tattoo, microblading, or scar camouflage? Yes, all of our procedures are done with strict hygiene and safety protocols. We use sterile, single-use needles and top-quality pigments. Our artists and technicians are highly trained to ensure a safe and comfortable experience. 3. How do I book an appointment? You can easily book an appointment by clicking the button below or by calling us directly. We recommend scheduling a consultation first to discuss your ideas and ensure we're a good fit for your needs. 4.When it comes to healing your tattoo, proper aftercare is crucial to ensure vibrant, long-lasting results. Aquaphor Healing Ointment is an excellent choice for tattoo aftercare, providing a protective barrier that locks in moisture and promotes faster healing. Its gentle, fragrance-free formula helps to soothe the skin, reducing redness and irritation while preventing scabbing and dryness. Simply apply a thin layer of Aquaphor to your freshly inked tattoo, and repeat as necessary to keep the area hydrated and protected. With consistent use, Aquaphor helps maintain the clarity and vibrancy of your tattoo as it heals, ensuring a smooth, beautiful finish. - Frequently Asked PMU Questions | Little City Tattoos
Frequently Asked PMU Questions Will my brows look too dark? Your brows will look darker and more defined immediately after your appointment, but this is temporary. As the skin heals, the color softens and settles into a more natural-looking result. Your pigment color and brow shape are customized to your features, skin tone, hair color, and desired look. Does permanent makeup hurt? Most clients describe the procedure as manageable rather than painful. Comfort varies from person to person, but topical numbing is used during the procedure when appropriate to help keep you comfortable. You may feel scratching, pressure, or mild sensitivity throughout the appointment. How long does permanent makeup last? Permanent makeup is designed to fade gradually over time. Results commonly last about 1–3 years, depending on the service, skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, skincare products, and how your body retains pigment. Periodic color boosts or refresh appointments help maintain the result you love. What is the difference between microblading and powder brows? Microblading creates individual hair-like strokes for a soft, natural appearance and is generally best suited for certain skin types. Powder brows use a soft shading technique to create a fuller, more polished brow that can range from very natural to more defined. During your consultation, we will recommend the technique that best fits your skin, natural brow hair, lifestyle, and goals. What are combo brows? Combo brows combine hair-like strokes with soft shading. This can be a great option for clients who want the natural detail of microblading with additional fullness and definition through the body and tail of the brow. Your artist will determine whether this technique is appropriate for your skin and desired result. What happens during the healing process? Some darkness, mild redness, tenderness, dryness, flaking, or patchiness can be normal during healing. The color may appear lighter at certain stages before it settles. Avoid picking or peeling the area and follow the aftercare instructions provided to you. The final healed result cannot be judged immediately after the appointment. Will I need a follow-up appointment? Most new permanent makeup services are a multi-step process. A follow-up appointment allows us to evaluate how your skin retained the pigment and make adjustments to color, shape, or density if needed. Your artist will explain the recommended timing for your specific service. What if I already have old permanent makeup? Previous permanent makeup does not automatically prevent you from having new work, but it must be evaluated first. If the old pigment is too dark, saturated, discolored, or outside the desired shape, lightening or removal may be recommended before new permanent makeup is applied. Please send clear, makeup-free photos or schedule a consultation before booking a new brow service. Can you correct brows done by another artist? Possibly. Correction work depends on the color, shape, saturation, placement, and condition of the existing pigment. Some brows can be corrected or refreshed, while others need lightening or removal first. A consultation is required so we can recommend the safest and most realistic plan. How do I know which brow service is right for me? You do not need to figure that out on your own. Your skin type, natural brow hair, previous permanent makeup, lifestyle, and desired finish all influence which technique will work best. Start with a consultation and we will guide you toward microblading, powder brows, combo brows, or another appropriate option. What is lip blushing? Lip blushing is a form of permanent makeup that enhances the natural color, shape, and definition of the lips. It can create a soft wash of color and a more balanced appearance without looking like traditional lipstick. The healed result is intentionally softer than the color you see immediately after the procedure. Can lip blush make my lips look bigger? Lip blush can improve definition and create the appearance of more balanced, polished lips, but it does not physically add volume like filler. Pigment is placed within the natural lip tissue rather than used to dramatically extend the lip border. What if my lips are naturally dark or uneven in color? Some clients with darker or uneven lip tones may benefit from a lip neutralization process before achieving their desired final color. This can require multiple sessions. Your natural lip tone and goals will be evaluated during the consultation so realistic expectations can be discussed before treatment. What is paramedical tattooing? Paramedical tattooing uses specialized tattoo techniques to help visually improve areas affected by scars, stretch marks, or changes to the skin. Services may include scar camouflage, stretch mark camouflage, and areola restoration. These treatments are highly individualized and typically require a consultation before scheduling. Can every scar or stretch mark be camouflaged? No. The area must be evaluated for color, texture, age, stability, and overall condition before treatment. Some scars or stretch marks are better candidates than others, and multiple sessions may be needed. A consultation helps determine whether camouflage is appropriate and what type of improvement is realistic. How much does permanent makeup cost? Pricing depends on the service and whether you are booking new work, a follow-up, maintenance, correction, or work over previous permanent makeup. Current pricing is listed on our booking page or discussed during your consultation. We recommend choosing a permanent makeup artist based on experience, healed results, safety, and technique—not price alone. How should I prepare for my appointment? Preparation varies by service. Before your appointment, you will receive specific instructions regarding skincare, sun exposure, exfoliation, medications or supplements that may affect the procedure, and anything else relevant to your treatment. Please review your pre-care instructions carefully and contact us with questions before your appointment. Who may not be a good candidate for permanent makeup? Certain medical conditions, medications, active skin conditions, pregnancy or nursing status, recent procedures, or other factors may require postponing treatment or obtaining medical clearance. Your health and safety come first, so complete your consultation and health forms accurately before your procedure. Can I see healed results before booking? Yes—and we encourage it. Fresh permanent makeup can look very different from the final healed result. Our portfolio includes healed work whenever available so you can better understand our style and the softer result you can expect after healing. How do I get started? If you already know which service you want, you can begin through our booking system. If you are unsure, have previous permanent makeup, need correction, or are considering paramedical tattooing, start with a consultation. We will review your goals and recommend the best next step for you. Still not sure which service is right for you? Start with a consultation. We’ll help you choose the service that best fits your features, skin, existing permanent makeup, and goals.
- Brows | Little City Tattoos
Is Microblading for me? Microblading uses fine blades to create natural, hair-like strokes, ideal for clients with sparse or thin brows who want a defined, realistic look. It typically lasts 1-2 years and offers a textured, natural appearance. Powder brows, on the other hand, create a soft, shaded effect, like a filled-in brow pencil, and are great for clients who want a more bold, defined look. They last a bit longer, around 2-3 years, and are especially good for oily skin. Both techniques are low-maintenance, meaning you won’t need to fill in your brows every day, and they save you time in your daily routine. If you have any more questions or want to schedule a consultation, feel free to reach out! I’ll be happy to guide you through the process.
